Brand Refresh — Faba Coffee Co.

Faba Coffee Co. came to us with a challenge: their visual identity had grown stale, and they were struggling to stand out in a crowded specialty coffee market. We embarked on a complete brand refresh — from logo and packaging to their entire digital footprint.

The Approach

We started with an intensive discovery phase, analysing their current audience, market position, and competitive landscape. The insight was clear: Faba had an incredible story about Ethiopian single-origin sourcing, but their brand wasn’t telling it.

Logo & Visual System

The new mark combines the coffee cherry with the Ethiopian flag’s green, gold, and red — subtle enough for premium shelf appeal, deliberate enough to tell the origin story. The wordmark was custom-drawn with a humanist sans-serif that bridges “craft” and “approachable.”

Packaging

We designed three tiers: daily-driver bags (vibrant, shelf-dominant), single-origin boxes (minimalist, story-driven), and a limited-edition holiday series (illustrative). Each uses a consistent layout system with variable colour by roast level and origin region.

Digital Presence

The website was rebuilt around a visual-first, mobile-responsive experience. Product pages lead with origin photography and tasting notes. A “Brew Guide” section became the top trafficked page within two months.

Results

The refresh launched across all 14 retail locations and online store simultaneously. Within 90 days, direct online sales increased by 34%, and their Instagram following grew from 8K to 20K.
