Web Platform — EduConnect

EduConnect needed a platform that made tutor-student matching feel effortless. The existing solution was a spreadsheet-driven mess that frustrated both sides.

The Challenge

Tutors couldn’t showcase their expertise effectively, students couldn’t filter by subject or location, and the booking flow had a 73% drop-off rate.

Design Process

User Research

We interviewed 18 tutors and 25 students across Addis Ababa. The key finding: trust was the biggest barrier. Students wanted to see tutor credentials, ratings, and a sample lesson style before committing.

Information Architecture

We restructured the platform around three core flows:

1. Discovery — Browse tutors by subject, location, price, and availability
2. Match — A streamlined booking flow reduced from 7 steps to 3
3. Learn — Integrated video lesson dashboard with session notes and progress tracking

Visual Design

A warm, approachable palette with plenty of white space and large typography for readability. Tutor profile cards use subtle glassmorphism, and the booking flow guides users with a clear progress indicator.

The Outcome

The redesigned platform launched on time and within budget. Session duration more than doubled, and the booking completion rate climbed from 27% to 84%.
